Cryphy Radio Vol. 3: MOOMBAHTON LIVE!

It's been awhile since the last installment of Cryphy radio, so I figured I'd lace y'all with a new mix. This one came about after a day of listening to beats and hitting up my favorite Brooklyn sammich spot with the dude Brandon Allday of MPLS rap duo Big Quarters. Moombahton has been everywhere lately(Read its origin HERE if you're unfamiliar) and I was showing him some of my favorite joints of the fledgling genre when he suggested I do a mix for the midwest homies, So here it is! This mix is 100% live so there might be a boo boo moment or two, but all in all its pretty fun and there's something for everyone including a few Moombahton edits and remixes from the likes of DJ Last Word and I, and I even included my edit/blend of Udachi's "Swagger," so get on it! Awhile back the homegirl Jess Jubilee of NYC's awesome dance party Flashing Lights sent me DJ Donna Summer's latest EP "RAW" from the stellar dance label NIGHTSHIFTERS. It included the track "Fighter," which I was really diggin, so I made a quick edit and threw Gucci's "Aw Man" vocals over it. Over here at the Cryphy blog we're gonna start out the week with a brand new mix from Last Word & finish it off with the notorious GET CRYPHY: Jimmy2times birfday bash at First Ave's V.I.P. Room (I guess for only a couple more days though as it becomes the Record Room after this weekend). I made this awhile ago 'cause I really liked the song. There was the original version that had no drums on it, and then the (Ghislain)Poirier Remix that added drums to the hole song. I thought it was a little too much, and it took away for the original a bit. So I took the original, and the Remix and put them together differently where the drums don't come in until the second verse. There is a 1 bar lead in for mixing as well. Enjoy!!

So it's kinda the day we've all been waiting for. Freeway & Jake One put out their new album "The Stimulus Package" on Rhymesayers Entertainment today. The album is a monster and has already been getting heavy rotation in the whip. One of the standout songs on the record (in my opinion) happens to be "Follow My Moves" featuring Birdman. On another note though. Our guy Prof over at Stophouse just shot a video for his new song "Animal" last night. It's off of his new mixtape "Kaiser Von Powderhorn 2". Prof hooked us up with the song early, and I already got the DJ edit ready to go. Once Prof gives us the thumbs up to post it we will. I've been holding onto this edit for a minute to see if the song took off like I thought it might. B.o.B is one of those artists that have been getting a ton of buzz for awhile now, and it's well deserved. He has a new album coming out called " B.o.B Presents the Adventures of Bobby Ray" slated to release in April. This is technically the first single off of the record and it's been getting some good radio play. Enjoy!!

I really thought I got the late pass on this song, 'cause it was getting a lot of play out east before I ever even heard the song. It turns out midwest radio really gets the late pass, 'cause they finally started playing it around here. I'm not real sure if the Cryphy blog is ready for some R&B joints, but this song is good as hell, and if your a DJ you need this edit in your set.
